RECANE BATIANCILA

             I am a licensed elementary teacher in the Philippines, where I earned the degrees of Bachelor of Elementary Education in General Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English and Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Management. I have more than two decades of teaching experience both private and public schools in the Philippines and Thailand.

             As a teacher, my main goal is to motivate students to do their best in order for them to reach their full potential as responsible adults who can compete globally in our digital world. Through my teaching experiences and training thus far, I have found the method of facilitating (guide on the side) rather than dictating (sage on stage) to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have learned that if students discover and construct their own learning experiences, they will not only retain information longer but will also become more confident in their abilities which should lead to their success. Being devoted to this assertion confirms that I must have made the right career choice for myself. I love working with students and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in their lives!

I have 23 years teaching experience in different grade levels from Kindergarten to High School in both Philippines and Thailand.
