I am currently a nursery homeroom teacher currently working at Singapore International School, Bangkok, Thailand.
I am currently teaching a mixed Singapore and British curriculum.
My educational philosophy is to create a supportive, inclusive and warm classroom environment that can help pupils achieve the highest academic, personal, social and emotional growth they can. I believe in the holistic development of our children’s future. I also believe I have the necessary socio-cultural awareness, sufficient subject knowledge skills and experience to tailor and implement stimulating and effective educational methods that will promote positive behaviour, multicultural respect, genuine love for school and lifelong learning as well as help learners with various learning needs to advance in their studies to the best of their abilities.
Additionally, in my opinion, the pillars of quality teaching are continuous assessment for learning that is acted upon to adjust teaching both immediately in the moment and in consecutive lesson planning. Alongside assessment for learning comes effective differentiation and providing activities that scaffold learning for LA children and challenge HA ones.
I believe that all teaching must be delivered using a variety of engaging methods and purposeful manipulatives. Feedback must be immediate whenever possible, and as soon as possible after the lesson whenever not possible to deliver it right away. It should be designed and given in a way that demonstrates easy, doable and scaffolded steps to build up target knowledge.
