We're looking for an Instrument Engineer to join our Thailand team.

As an Instrument Engineer, you will deliver engineering design and technical support for instrument and control systems across all project phases.

To succeed in this role, you should have solid experience in offshore brownfield projects, strong capability in instrument and control system design and sizing, familiarity with hazard analysis processes, and the ability to review engineering documents, vendor data, and support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.

What You'll Do

We are looking for an Instrument Engineer to join our team.

The Role Responsibilities Include

Design main instrument and control systems, including the Process Control System (PCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS), and Fire and Gas System (FGS).

Develop engineering designs for wellhead platform PLC, HMI, SCADA, and Pneumatic Control systems.
Create engineering designs for instrument and control systems related to sub-package units.

Design interfaces and interconnections between instrument packages and other systems, such as IRP, MCC, Wellhead Control Panel, and packaged equipment controllers.

Perform preliminary sizing for field instruments, control valves, safety valves, and similar equipment.

Issue engineering datasheets and specifications for field instruments, actuated valves, control valves, pressure safety valves, and related equipment, including their utility apparatus such as cables, regulators, interfaces, and interposing modules.

Select appropriate hazardous area certification equipment and protection techniques.
Redline markups on related instrument documents and drawing packages.
Issue instrument lists, junction box lists, IO lists, cable lists (cable schedules), tube lists, etc.
Produce schematics or diagrams, including cable blocks, instrument and control blocks, instrument loops, MCT diagrams, interconnections, etc.
Provide wiring diagrams, including junction box wiring, control marshalling cabinet wiring, interconnections, etc.
Create layout/location plans, including instrument layouts, cable layouts, etc.
Issue installation details and hook-ups.
Prepare site survey checklists for unclear or uncertain information.
Submit site survey reports.
Prepare and deliver work packs for project execution, including calibration tests, loop tests, function tests, and other required procedures.

Develop detailed engineering for the final engineering phase, possibly initiated by the Instrument discipline or combined with other disciplines, ensuring all related engineering documents and drawings are included.

Prepare and deliver Material Take-Off (MTO) and bulk material estimates and cost estimations.
Develop detailed instrument and control scopes of work for issuing RFQs/Service Orders to suppliers and/or contractors.

Collaborate with the procurement team to support Technical Clarifications (TC) and prepare Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) to complete the procurement process.

Communicate with vendors to obtain technical data (size, configuration, operating duty/rating, design conditions, etc.) necessary for engineering design and share this information with other disciplines.

Review vendor data submissions, including datasheets, vendor documents, certificates, etc.
Evaluate vendor-proposed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures.
Participate in FAT as required.
Participate in vendor package SAT or lead site commissioning offshore as needed.

What You'll Have

candidates must possess at least eight years of experience in offshore brownfield modification projects in the Gulf of Thailand.
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or a related field is required.

Holding a sea survival certificate and the ability to work offshore for short periods, such as site surveys and commissioning, is preferable.

Candidates should have experience in wellhead platform projects, including infill, produced water re-injection well conversion, pipeline conversion projects, and wellhead control panel upgrades.

The ability to review and perform simple edits on PLC and SCADA program files is also preferable.
Additionally, candidates should be capable of preliminary sizing for field instruments, control valves, safety valves, and similar equipment.
Familiarity with process hazard analysis workshops, such as HAZOP, HAZID, What-if, LOPA, and SOA, is essential.
Knowledge of SIL identification and verification is advantageous.
The role requires the ability to deliver technical clarifications (TC) and technical bid evaluations (TBE).

Candidates must be capable of performing in-depth detailed checks and providing comments on P&ID, Cause and Effect, and related electrical documents.

Furthermore, the ability to review as-built drawings returned from the offshore team and create as-built drawings is necessary.

Providing technical and engineering support during the FAT, SAT, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases of the projects is also required.
