Overview

Manages technical teams and focal point for development issues across a development-wide program. Line manager of Development Team Leaders, Developers and other technical roles.


Job Description:


  • Executes on technology strategies. Primary area of influence is within own team and some influence on other teams.
  • Evaluates and makes decisions on engagement of strategic suppliers.
  • Manages and supervises multiple development teams.
  • Implements a customeraware culture for their team, ensuring close working relationships with Product, Project Management, Technical Operations etc
  • Optimizes project deliverables to ensure that technology design fits with existing product architecture and technology strategy.
  • Allocates and schedules resources in line with overall team, resolves conflicts, and prioritizes projects to meet the needs of the business.
  • Creates trust and credibility with stakeholders/user community and works with them to identify issues and risks that may impact them.
  • Ensures internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or other such agreements for third party support with technical areas are met.

Responsibilities:


  • Develops knowledge and understanding of technologies in LSEG and utilises these in own scope of work, with others as well as to create linkages.
  • Autonomously writes clean, efficient code based on specifications.
  • Leads a team, holding responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, as well as promoting an inclusive and open culture.
  • Builds and defines learning and development plans for teams and individuals
  • Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in [domain] and develops further knowledge of other domains to act on linkages and dependencies.
  • Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy and culture within all work. Contributes to strategy definition where appropriate.
  • Understands LSEG's commercial position in the market and how the product / service / domain fits into LSEG's commercial direction.
  • Leads the delivery of complex and important projects and ensures the delivery to high standards of other team members or teams.
  • Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics
  • Leads design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and quality leads.
  • Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solution and provides expert knowledge on coding
  • Continues to build and develop trusting relationships with senior stakeholders (internally and externally), representing LSEG appropriately. Promotes collaboration between and within teams and communicates complex information clearly to all audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science or equivalent. MBA and/or a PMP certification is a plus
  • Extremely proficient in Front-End/Full-Stack Development
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, complex product development cycles in Agile environment
  • Defining the product and technology vision for critical aspects of the program
  • Skilled at leading teams through the transition from ideation to execution
  • Experience in defining project opportunities and understand customer requirements, facilitate requirements collection, leads the transition from ideation to execution
