- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO and best practices within the chemical industry.
- Lead and manage all aspects of Process Safety Management, including process hazard analyses (PHAs), management of change (MOC), pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs), incident investigations, and mechanical integrity programs for chemical processes.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify potential hazards in chemical operations, and develop effective control measures to minimize risks to personnel, assets, and the environment.
- Oversee and conduct detailed investigations of all safety incidents, near misses, and accidents. Determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to relevant authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with all local, national, and international EHS regulations relevant to the chemical industry. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, both internal and external, to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Develop and deliver engaging and effective safety training programs for all levels of employees, including specialized training on chemical handling, emergency response, and process safety for operational staff.
- Develop, implement, and regularly test emergency response plans for chemical spills, fires, and other potential incidents to ensure swift and effective responses.
- Champion a strong safety culture throughout the organization, promoting proactive safety behaviors, employee engagement, and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Manage the safety department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for safety initiatives, equipment, and training.
- Collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, R&D, and other departments to integrate safety considerations into all business activities and foster a cohesive approach to EHS.

- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are highly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Safety Management, with a significant portion specifically within the chemical manufacturing or petrochemical industry.
- Deep understanding of chemical processes, hazardous materials, and industry-specific safety challenges and regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso III Directive, REACH).
- Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in implementing and managing comprehensive PSM programs.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential. The ability to communicate complex technical and safety information clearly and concisely is critical for international collaboration.
- In-depth knowledge of international and national EHS regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analyses and develop effective corrective actions.
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence, motivate, and train diverse teams across different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 30% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
