- Remain responsible for organization's HSE goals and targets, work with business head and stakeholders to implement organization HSE goals and targets.
- Plan and implement strategic objectives to improve overall HSE aspects to improve projects and improve business
- Work with business heads to perform go-no go process for the upcoming projects and high light the HSE risks.
- Review client's HSE expectations received as part of request for proposal and ascertain the scope of services are deliverable.
- Support the senior leadership on HSE technical issues as per the requirements and request.
- Be aware of HSE regulatory requirements and amendments and appraise business heads to comply to the applicable HSE regulations
- Work with Regional business heads and regional HSE leads to plan, hire, develop and deploy HSE personnel for projects.
- Review HSE dashboards and review critical projects requiring support and intervention and initiate actions to intervene unsafe activities.
- Verify those projects requiring suitable intervention from client and contractors get due attention at the right time, escalate if not.
- To ensure Tier I, II & III audits are conducted, and findings are actioned.
- Review and verify the project management controls including periodic inspections, audits, reviews are conducted as per the plan and issues addressed.
- Handle and frontend escalations from clients regarding HSE issues.
- Lead and investigate serious and significant incidents, disseminate learnings from the HSE incident and initiate actions to prevent from recurrence.
- Drive continual improvement programs and implement tangible programs to improve overall HSE performance of the organization.
- Prepare monthly reports on agreed HSE metrics and share the report containing opportunities of improvements and corrective actions.
- Ensure all HSE incidents are reported and advise preventive actions to prevent recurrence of incident.
- Identify the training needs of the HSE personnel and work with concerned stakeholders to ensure the training needs are met with.
- Drive HSE team to implement out of the box ideas to prevent HSE hazards and risks.
- Conduct scheduled periodic audits, site inspections and advice project management team, regional HSE team of the appropriate actions.
- Prepare key measurements in line with objectives to the respective zones and review them on continuous basis to drive continual improvements.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to Senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in HSE roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE strategies across multiple projects and regions.
- Experience in client-facing roles, handling escalations and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Familiarity with BSI audits and ISO certification processes.
- Strong background in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Deep understanding of HSE regulations and compliance requirements (local and international).
- Ability to interpret client HSE requirements and align them with organizational capabilities.
- Proficiency in HSE dashboards, data analytics, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and go/no-go decision frameworks.
