About the Role:


Reporting to the VP Buying, the Senior Contracting Manager, Asia is responsible for executing the regional product and buying strategy.

Keeping a focus on costs and service quality for all brands under the G Travel Community ("GTC").

This includes developing a regional budget that meets the needs of this strategy and overseeing a regional team of Coordinators that conduct and support the research and execution of the strategy set by the VP Buying.


The Senior Contracting Manager is also responsible to communicate and update all documentation and systems to reflect current status of development and contracting work in the region.

This role works closely with the General Manager, Director of Regional Operations, the local Operation Managers and the Directors of Product to generate the most optimal flow, budgets, vendor selection and product recommendations.

As a member of the region's leadership team; must be able to effectively partner and maintain consistent communication with all stakeholders, internally and externally, to ensure the objectives of the region are achieved.


What You'll be Doing:

  • Executes the regional buying strategy for the region
  • Establishes effective and consistent ways of working in the region and ensure proper controls are created and standardized regionally aligned with global GTC processes
  • Reviews all stage gates and new product budgets for the region and reviews or creates competitive analysis prior to submission for review.
  • Maintains awareness of competitive marketplace via local market intelligence to the Product Leadership team
  • Grows relationships with existing vendors and sourcing new vendors as required; and using relationships to encourage new ideas and innovative solutions to challenges
  • Supports negotiating contract negotiations for all major vendors, while maximizing cost value and ensuring GTC is preferred
  • Works with stakeholders to optimize our purchasing and utilization in the region.
  • Ensures updated costs and tour content for coming year are secured, negotiated and contracted for the region
  • Manages, mentors and oversees the regional contracting team
  • Maintains and oversees the vendor management system data and reporting for the region and ensures that all GTC standard processes are followed.
  • Ensures contracts are effectively processed using internal software
  • Monitors customer feedback and vendor SOP's to ensure contracted services are meeting expectations and safety standards
  • Reviewing monthly Trip Profitability Reports with Directors and GM
  • Leading special projects and negotiations, as assigned by the VP Buying

Desired Skills & Experience:
years or more of relevant travel, product buying and operation experience in multiple regions of Asia- Proven experience negotiating large contracts and managing large vendor relationships- Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant discipline- Extensive knowledge of Asian and global tourism markets- Experience with buying, product development and operations cycle and processes- Experience leading teams and working collaboratively with cross-functional groups- Advanced communication skills, both oral and written in English and other language- Ability to travel as role necessitates up to 25% of the time
