    Role Purpose

    The Business Development Manager plays a leadership role in advancing resource mobilisation efforts across existing and new funding sources, and positioning Plan International Thailand as a partner of choice for advancing children and girls' rights and gender equality. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a long‑term financial sustainability strategy that ensures a balanced portfolio of small, medium and large grants and a strong pipeline of future funding aligned with the Thailand Programme Unit Strategy.

    Central to the role is strengthening relationships with existing and prospective institutional, philanthropic, and corporate donors through consistent engagement, clear communication of programme impact, and meaningful involvement in programme design. The post holder analyses donor trends, maps funding priorities, leads the development of high‑quality funding proposals, and strengthens internal capacity in donor management and stewardship. By expanding partnerships and broadening the funding base, the role supports the delivery of high‑quality, sustainable programmes in Thailand.

    Dimensions of the Role

  • Alongside senior leaders, represent Thailand (and APAC when required) in both internal/external resource mobilization activities
  • Gather intelligence around funding opportunities from potential donors, and support Thailand PU in prepositioning against these
  • Strengthen the pipeline of proposals and support the PU to develop high quality, evidence-based, value for money concept notes and proposals.
  • Oversee and coordinate the development, writing and packaging of proposals from concept to award.
  • Expand donor portfolio development in Thailand - institutional, corporate, UN, global funds, private donors and foundations, research institutions.
  • Proactively work with National Office counterparts in Plan International to identify and develop grant opportunities and funding.
